Why is an event missing? Why is an event showing up incorrectly? Why is an event at the wrong time in Google when it is correct in Veracross?

There are multiple reasons an event might be showing (or not showing) incorrectly:

If you have not synced recently, this may be because there has been a change in Veracross since your last SchoolCal sync. You will want to sync now.

If events are missing:

If all events are missing for certain classes, this may be because they belong to classes without start and/or end dates in Veracross. Without known start and end dates for classes, events will not be created on Google Calendar. To fix this, you will want to add dates to classes that you want to sync. 

If some events are missing for a variety of classes, this may be because of the number of events that are being created. Google has an event creation limit of 100,000; if your number of events created by SchoolCal (see right) is near this limit we recommend using the "Meeting dates" filter to reduce the number of events that need to be created by only syncing events that occur on or before a specific date.

If events are appearing when they shouldn't:

If an event has the course type "Dorm", unfortunately this is caused by a bug in Veracross' API. Dorm events from the API are unfortunately missing their course type, so it is not currently possible to filter them out by course type. To make dorm events not appear on faculty calendars, you can instead filter out by faculty role of Dorm Head and Dorm Parent. At the moment there is no way to avoid syncing dorm events for students.

If event times are incorrect:

If the event is on a day where an alternate block schedule has been assigned, and the course type of the class is Academic, Non-Academic, Advisory, or Homeroom, this may be because you have not fully enabled syncing of alternate block schedules. This sync utilizes the new Veracross API (V3), and must be set up separately from the V2 sync that is first required. See these instructions for setting up ABS syncing.

If the event is on a day where an alternate block schedule has been assigned and the course type of the class is Athletic Program, Other Programs, Extended Care, Dorm, or Summer, this is because Veracross does not yet support alternate block schedules for these course types within the new Veracross API (V3). These events should appear at their regularly scheduled times.
