Why are notifications going off 10 minutes before every class?
Can I disable notifications for SchoolCal-created events?
You may delete event notifications in the template by checking the box by "Delete event notifications". If it not possible to delete for some people and not others so if you wish to let your users decide, then do not check this box. Event notification settings are personal and can be adjusted by the individual. You may want to share Google's instructions for modifying notification settings with your school community.
In summary, Google is automatically set up to add a 10 minute notification for every event, but end users can delete the automatic added reminder.
To delete the automatic reminder:
1. Click the three dots by your primary calendar and choose "Settings and Sharing"
2. Scroll down to "Event Notifications" and click the "x" by the 10 minute notification:
Notifications will no longer automatically be added to the user's events on their calendar. If you have already deployed SchoolCal, no problem, removing that notification will remove the notifications from existing SchoolCal events

However, if they wish to manually add an event notification to a regular calendar event (meeting, hair appointment, etc) they can add it to the individual event:
