If your schedules have been "published" they will now be available via the API. All automatic syncing was paused back in June to prevent inadvertent release of next year's schedule.
To "tune up" your schedules please log in at go.schoolcal.co with your SchoolCal user and click the "Data" tab. Click the "Load Data" button to ensure you are working with the current year's data. If you are a Veracross school, you may need to update your scopes for your V3 connection.
Click the flow in question, ensure the following:
1. You are syncing either future dates ("Only future dates" or "From today to cutoff date" if you wish to sync only one semester or quarter). We do not recommend syncing a date range - that typically is reserved for troubleshooting. Check that the other filters include/exclude the people you wish. With the new syncing strategy we are recommending a separate flow for students, teachers and resources. Our new template options give greater flexibility. Each filter section has its' own save button, so be sure to click "save" for each after making any changes.
2. If you have excluded classes last year, you will need to delete the existing exclusions, and, after the data has loaded, add them back again. The internal class IDs for classes change from year to year.
3. New this year - you may now exclude specific blocks. So, for example, if you wish to exclude your lunch block you may do so.
3. Make any adjustments you wish to make to your event template. If you need help with the syntax, please email support@schoolcal.com.
4. At this point you may want to put your flow into pilot mode, add a few pilot users and click "Sync Now". If you are satisfied with the resultant calendar events, you may turn off pilot mode and turn on "Automatic syncing". Each night SchoolCal will pull a current data load, find any differences and then push any changes, additions or deletions to user's calendars.
If you need help with this, we are happy to schedule a call. Please email support@schoolcal.com for a link.
